The hidden story that inspired The Edge...

In 1917 Samuel and Minnie Untermyer created one of the finest gardens in America. Their estate consisted of 150 acres overlooking the Hudson River, 60 greenhouses, and tiers of gardens all meticulously maintained by 60 gardeners.

In 1940 Samuel Untermyer passed away and the garden was left to ruin. Over the years a team dedicated to the restoration of the gardens have peeled back layers of vines and bramble. You can only imagine the excitement when they discovered the original steel edging that marked the flower beds. The location of this bed is where the vegetable garden is today.
