The hidden story that inspired Monolithic

In 1917 Samuel and Minnie Untermyer created one of the finest gardens in America. Their estate consisted of 150 acres overlooking the Hudson River, 60 greenhouses, and tiers of gardens all meticulously maintained by 60 gardeners.

In 1940 Samuel Untermyer passed away and the garden was left to ruin including their mansion which was demolished by developers who purchased a portion of the Untermyer's land. It is incredible that even a small portion of this garden remains today including the two 2,000 years old ancient Roman monolithic cipollino marble columns that stand 25 feet tall and frame the tree lined view from the vista.
